Ok, Halloween night at the Spectrum with Pearl Jam was an epic and historical event. I'm proud to have been there all 4 nights, and after reviewing some past LIVE-DVD releases from pearl jam, i do believe that "Bringing down the Spectrum - October 27, 28, 30, 31" is completely worthy of being a DVD-Box set. These shows captured everything Pearl Jam represents. The set lists each night, especially the final show, were amazing! I think it's important for every PJ fan to experience this historical event. The cameras were rolling, so why not reprint it, mass produce it, put all 4 nights in a nice little box and give every Pearl Jam fan the opportunity to experience this epic journey. They played "Bugs" live, for the first time ever, and maybe the last time! I would love to have these 4 shows as part of my Pearl Jam Live-DVD collection, not only as a Live recording, but as a part of history, and i'm proud to have been a part of it. Thank You Pearl Jam!
EPIC
fucking epic. my body hurts, my life hurts...what a show...what a run...what a tour. i did 11 shows this year and tonight gave me such closure. i couldnt fucking move for the last half hour but i had this silly shit eating grin that probably won't go away for a few days.
This show was INSANE!!!!
I really can't believe what i just witnessed!
its amazing how worthless i have been at work this week. Unreal.
Brought 2 co-workers there who kind of get sick of hearing me gush about the band and think (thought) I am crazy to attend so many PJ and EV shows. They both were awestruck by what is going on and are sold for life now. i have to expidite bootlegs of old shows to these guys this morning!
Bono and Eddie 's conversation:
Bono: "Each of our records is a racehorse that we've trained and groomed. When we enter it into a race we want it to win."
Eddie: "Our records are horses, too, and we also train and groom them. The difference is, " Eddie concludes, a beatific smile on his face, "I want ours to run free in a field"

One of my friends with me had never seen PJ live or even heard a single PJ song. Yes...a COMPLETE PEARL JAM VIRGIN.We drove from Phoenix to San Diego, about a 6 hour trip. I built up the experience along the way by saying that feeling the energy from PJ and the crowd is like "the souls of everyone in the packed house transcending out of their bodies and then flying around in the rafters high-fiving each other".
Needless to say...My previous PJ virgin friend walked out of that arena in shock. He realized my imagery was actually right.
This was also my wife's first PJ show. She is not a fan! I know! Grounds for a divorce, right?!?! Well...she went with me to SD to se the fellas for the first time. Needless to say, she enjoyed the show, but she still said, "I still don't dig the music, but I liked some of the songs, and I now know why you and the other fans love PJ, there is a connection there that I didn't know about. I can see how Ed cares about the fans, he certainly connected with the crowd and the crown sure gave it back, that was cool." So....from her point of view, she thought the show was good. She never saw a crowd get so into the show before.

"I'm sitting bleary eyed at my desk, sipping coffee and trying to get thoughts together. Feel exhausted, hungover, yet still can't fucking wait to go again tonight. These guys just BRING IT. How do they do it every time? To have as much energy as they do, 18 years into their career is awesome. And it's all genuine, you have to love it. It's like having 5 Springsteens up on stage. Opening up with the Why Go/Animal/Got Some triple play showed they were not fucking around in LA. Got Some really holds up well next to those two songs too, God I love that song right now.
1 word. Energy.
3 more words. Oh My God.
Wow! Four words I never thought I'd live to write: "Lukin w/ string quartet"!
If you love the band enough to read my long-winded description, then you really can't afford to miss them. They're doing something that grows more special by the day. Making interesting/compelling new albums, and kicking ass live.
I think they know we expect it. And they are refusing to let us down. It sometimes hurts how much I love this band and how much I miss them when I don't have another show to attend.
Thanks for indulging me."
The list is long...
